Message Try to get the shaft in as far as possible and bolt the tranny to the engine with 2 bolts on the left and right side to prevent it from turning or sliding/falling off.
Make sure the bolts are tight but no too tight.
Now SLOWLY turn the crankshaft pulley until you hear a "clunk" or "click", which means the shaft splines have lined up and the shaft has moved in (this works best if the tranny is in gear)
Sometimes you have to repeat this process a few times and keep tightening the 2 bolts before the shaft has moved in completely.
